    When considering what your Website purpose is think about what you hope to have your visitors gain from visiting your Website. Is the goal of the visitor to purchase a product or service? The goal may be to gain information on a specific subject, in which case they may wish to join a Website or to become a member.   You will then be able to send out newsletters keeping you visitors up to date on any new things going on with your Website. They may also wish to join a community based form. If this is the case you can have several members communicate with each other. They will be able to share ideas and discus them with one another.

    What ever your Websites purpose may be you will again want to be as specific as possible. Try to indicate to your viewers your purpose right from the start. The last thing a person will want to do is to figure out what your Website is all about. If this happens the viewer will simply just move on.

    Give incentives to gain there loyalty, this may take the form of a free membership or a discount on a specific product. This will also help a viewer to stay on your Website for an extended period of time. This will help with your Websites page ranking and SEO.

    Just remember to define what the purpose of your Website is. Like I said people do not want to figure this out on there own you need to tell them.
